Hi Brian Thanks for letting us know about the coral tree. The crazy thing is that so many of the plants we have in our gardens have the potential to become pests when introduced into their optimum growing climates outside their normal habitat. There are also many Australian Native Plants that are considered a pest or an invasive weed in certain parts of the world. Take for example Australian wattles in South Africa. Many of these are consider weeds in that country.
I think that gardeners and local nurseries need to be made aware of what's considered to be a weed in their particular area because what's invasive in one area may not be in another. Thanks for you input, it's very much appreciated.

In Queensland Erythrina crita-galli is just another of the thousands of invasive, unwanted weeds. Recently I picked out 56 seedlings from a property next to us where unthinking owners planted several trees, which reached huge sizes in a few years. We live at the summit of a small mountain in D'Aguilar National Park near Brisbane and plants like this in unattended properties threaten the health of the Park. This plant is on the Qld. register of problem plants.
It would be a good idea if you posted appropriate warnings with showings of things like these weeds, which would probably not pose the same threat in your climate.
Another typically promoted problem plant is Hedychium garderianum, which has spread alarmingly in our local high altitude parks at Springbrook and Beechmont areas. It has been recently declared as a pest plant in Qld., with other Hedychium spp.
I arrived here looking for info on your brilliant show at the Chelsea Flower Show this year! My heartiest congratulations on promoting Australia's real plants.
Cheers, Brian Phillips, Mount Glorious, Qld.
